Ah, the things that have been sitting in my closet. Good news is: they are no longer ignored. Nor placed in the, "I'll get to it some other time," pile. I am not productive, but on track. Both of these pieces are made from previously loved clothing.

As if news reports about gas prices aren’t discouraging enough, the talking heads love to remind us that previous price spikes were more severe if you adjust for inflation in today’s dollars. We’re still getting better value, so they say, than during some other periods in history. Somehow, that feels like hollow consolation.

On HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher Friday night, MSNBC's Chris Matthews was asked about "scuttlebutt" that brash cable news host would run for office from Pennsylvania in 2010.Before entering journalism, Matthews served as an aide to former House Speaker Tip O'Neill. Matthews also unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 1974.
